It is important to thoroughly examine this policy prior to finalizing a reservation. By reserving a charter with CommonsServiceLedger, you affirm your acceptance of and comply with the refund terms detailed herein.
Standard Cancellation and Refund Schedule
More than 72 Hours Prior to Charter
Entitled to: Full reimbursement minus service charges
Refund Period: 5-7 business days
Service Charge: €50 for card payments
Requirements: Must apply in writing through email or call
24-72 Hours Before the Charter
Entitled to: Half of the total charter cost
Refund Period: 7-10 business days
Service Charge: €25 taken from the refund amount
Requirements: Valid justification required; administrative costs taken into account
Less than 24 Hours to Charter
Entitled to: Refunds are not available
Exception: Emergency situations will be taken into consideration
Alternative: Option for a charter credit as decided by management
Requirements: Documented proof required for emergency situations
Weather-Related Cancellations
Our Commitment to Safety
Your safety is our main concern. Should the chartering conditions be unsafe as determined by our certified captain, we offer several options:
- Full Refund: Provided when rescheduling isn’t feasible
- Rescheduling: Shift your charter to an alternative date without extra cost
- Charter Credit: Issue a credit that's valid for one year from the initial charter date
Weather Evaluation Procedure
Our assessment of weather conditions encompasses:
- Interpreting wind velocities and trajectories
- Evaluating wave heights and maritime conditions
- Forecasting visibility and precipitation
- Heeding maritime advisories and alerts
- A safety judgment from our expert captain
Decision Making: Weather-related cancellations are determined at least 4 hours before the planned departure.
Medical Emergency Refunds
Unforeseen Medical Events
We are sympathetically aware that unexpected medical situations can arise. The following instances may warrant special consideration:
- Unanticipated disease or injury necessitating hospital care
- Breaking news of immediate family death
- Urgent military orders or recall
- Jury duty summons or a legal court directive
- Extreme weather conditions impeding travel
Proof Requirement
To process urgent refund inquiries, please furnish:
- A medical statement or hospital paperwork
- A death certificate if relevant
- Formal military instruction
- A legal summon or jury notification
- Announcement of travel advisory or state of emergency
Processing: We expedite emergency refund requests typically within 3-5 business days after receiving the necessary documents.
Operational Cancellations
Technical Complications
If the vessel designated for your use encounters irreparable mechanical issues:
- Substitute Vessel: Our aim is to offer an equivalent alternative
- Full Refund: Granted if a similar option isn't available
- Partial Refund: If the alternate vessel is priced differently
- Compensation: Extra compensation may be given for any inconvenience
Lack of Available Crew
In the unlikely scenario where a qualified crew is not on hand:
- A replacement crew is arranged if doable
- Full refund if the charter is unable to proceed
- An option to reschedule at no added charge
Refund Issuance
Refund Means
Refunds are credited back via the initial method employed for the booking:
- Credit Cards: Typically within 5-7 business days
- Wire Transfers: Generally 7-10 business days
- Cash/Cheque: Approximately 3-5 business days
Handling Fees
Card Transaction Handling
A €50 charge applies to cancellations made more than 72 hours ahead
Wire Transfer Handling
A €25 charge applies to all wire transfer refunds
International Processing
Extra fees may be applicable for cross-border dealings
Charter Credits
Credit Issuance Circumstances
Credits for future charters might be offered as a substitute for refunds under certain conditions:
- Abrupt cancellations (less than 24 hours' notice)
- Cancellations due to adverse weather
- Self-initiated schedule changes
- Unanticipated operational issues
Credit Conditions
- Validity: Good for 12 months from date of issuance
- Transferability: Credits are not exchangeable among different parties
- Value: Corresponds to the full value of the charter with no deduction for handling fees
- Utilization: Applicable towards any available charter services
- Expiry: Credits must be utilized within the 12-month timeframe without extension
Partial Refunds for Service Disruptions
Interruptions in Service
If your charter experience is interrupted or cut short due to factors we can control:
- Compensation proportionate to the unutilized duration
- Credit equivalent to a future charter of the same value
- Additional complimentary services or upgrades may be proffered
Guest-Induced Interruptions
If a charter concludes prematurely because of guest misconduct or breaches of safety:
- Forfeit of refund for remaining time
- Total charge is still applicable
- Possibility of extra fees
Contesting Refund Decisions
If the refund determination does not align with your expectations, you have the option to:
- Seek a re-evaluation by our leadership team
- Present further proof or information
- Engage with consumer rights bodies for a solution
- Consider legal courses as permitted by relevant laws

Step 3: Assessment and Execution
We will confirm receipt of your plea within 24 hours, compare it with our policy, notify you of our verdict within 48 hours, and carry out approved refunds within the periods mentioned beforehand.
Significant Reminders
- All applications for refunds need to be made in written form
- Refunds will be carried out in €, irrespective of the original currency used for payment
- We highly advise securing travel insurance
- This policy may be amended, provided a 30-day notification
- Refunds are subject to pertinent taxes and regulatory constraints
